Today, I am going to clarify some Important facts about the two main 𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐮𝐩 𝐅𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐬 in F5 Operating System (TMOS), as following: ⊛ SCF (Single Configuration File): - Generally Used for 𝐈𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐢𝐠 𝐌𝐢𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 between Devices - It Affects JUST the "𝐑𝐮𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠-𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐢𝐠" - You 𝐌𝐔𝐒𝐓 use "𝐓𝐌𝐒𝐇 𝐒𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐒𝐲𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐢𝐠" Command - It contains "/𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐢𝐠/𝐛𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐩.𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐟" , "/𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐢𝐠/𝐛𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐩_𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐞.𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐟" , "/𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐢𝐠/𝐛𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐩_𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐫.𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐟" , and "𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐜𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐢𝐠𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧" - It does 𝐍𝐎𝐓 Contain "𝐒𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦 𝐋𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐞" , "𝐒𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦 𝐕𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐃𝐁" , and "𝐊𝐞𝐲 & 𝐂𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬" - It is used as a method to Restore the Runnig-Config to the "𝐃𝐞𝐟𝐚𝐮𝐥𝐭-𝐅𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲" State (Except the "𝐋𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐞 𝐅𝐢𝐥𝐞" and "𝐌𝐆𝐌𝐓-𝐈𝐏 𝐀𝐝𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬") - It is usable JUST thru the 𝐓𝐌𝐒𝐇 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐭 ⊛ UCS (User Configuration Set): - It is Considered as the 𝐌𝐀𝐈𝐍 𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐮𝐩 𝐅𝐢𝐥𝐞 which contains the 𝐖𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐞 𝐎𝐛𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐬 and also License Details - It Affects both the "𝐑𝐮𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠-𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐢𝐠" and "𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐩-𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐢𝐠" - There is 𝐍𝐨 𝐍𝐞𝐞𝐝 to use "𝐓𝐌𝐒𝐇 𝐒𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐒𝐲𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐢𝐠" Command - It is usable thru Either the 𝐓𝐌𝐒𝐇 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐭 or 𝐆𝐔𝐈
